Switched from plotting out every scene to just pantsing it
Used to plan every chapter before writing a word, got stuck for months. Now I just write and see where it goes, finished a 50k draft in 6 weeks. Anyone else find planning kills their momentum?

Yeah, I used to think planning was the only way but now I totally get what you mean.

Yeah the trick is finding that middle ground where you still have a loose direction but leave room for things to change. @the_linda last week I had this whole Saturday planned out and then a friend called about a spontaneous hike, ended up being the best day I'd had in months. Planning too much can kill the good stuff that just pops up.
