The librarian in Toledo handed me a napkin prompt and I've used it every week since
I was stuck on a story for 3 weeks, so I went to a little write-in at the Toledo library on a rainy Tuesday in March. An older lady next to me noticed my blank page and slid over a napkin with one line on it: "Write about someone waiting for a bus that never comes." I finished 600 words in 20 minutes, which never happens for me. Now I keep a stack of index cards with single-line prompts like that and pull one before every session. What's the oddest place a prompt has come from for you?
