Warning: I was sure AI writing prompts were a gimmick until I ran out of ideas at 2am
I fed a prompt generator my last three finished stories and it spat out forty plot twists I never would have thought of, so now I'm the guy who told everyone it was cheating using one.

Read somewhere that even some published authors use prompt generators to break through blocks, just like using a thesaurus for better words. It makes sense to me, brainstorming is hard.

That "like using a thesaurus for better words" part nails it. People act like using a prompt generator is cheating, but it's just a tool to get the gears turning. You wouldn't tell a painter to skip the sketch phase. I know a few indie authors who admit they'll feed a basic plot summary into a generator just to see what weird angle it spits back out, then they scrap half of it but keep the one quirky detail that sparks the real story. It's all about unblocking your brain, not letting the machine write the whole thing.
