Changed my mind about storing bottle caps loose in a jar
I used to keep every bottle cap I found in one big glass jar, no sorting, no backing, just tossed in there. It looked cool from the outside but was a mess when I wanted to show anyone a specific cap from a brewery trip to Asheville. Last month I tried sorting them by color into those small plastic craft bins with dividers, and honestly it changed how I enjoy the collection. What convinced me was a friend asking to see my rare wax-sealed stout cap and me having to dump the whole jar on the kitchen table to find it. Now I can pull out the green and gold section in seconds, and the jar is just for duplicates I trade or give away. I still keep the jar for the visual effect, but the bins are where the real collection lives. Anyone else sort by something weird like country or bottle style, or is color the normal way to go?

Ever have one of those moments where you watch someone dig through a huge pile of caps for ten minutes just to find one they swore was in there? My buddy did that at a party, gave up, and then just started grouping his by the brewery location on the cap, like a weird map of his beer travels. Color seems too fancy for me, but honestly, anything beats the chaos of a loose jar.
