Had to pick between collecting vintage postcards or souvenir spoons for my new display case

I chose the spoons because my grandma gave me her starter set of 12 from her travels in the 1970s, and now I'm up to 47 from different states, so what's the best way to mount them without damaging the handles?

Mounting 47 spoons without damaging the handles sounds like a serious museum project. They're souvenir spoons, not the crown jewels. A basic shadow box with some foam cutouts would probably do the job just fine.

I used clear fishing line on my 24 spoons, no foam needed.

Actually had this same problem with my own grandma's spoons! The clear fishing line trick works great for hanging them, but with that many spoons you'll want a solid backer board. I used a thin sheet of cork covered in nice fabric inside a deep shadow box. Then just loop the fishing line around each handle and pin the ends into the cork with tiny stainless steel pins. Lets you space them out evenly without any glue touching the metal.
