My dad told me to keep my comic books in the attic and I should have listened

He said 'the basement will ruin them' but I thought it was fine for a few months. I just pulled out my old X-Men #129 and the pages are all wavy from the damp air. It's not totally wrecked but the grade is way down now. Anyone else have a story about bad storage advice they ignored?

Ugh, that's the worst! Honestly, it feels like the older generation always has this specific, hard-won knowledge we brush off. They've seen how basements and attics really work over years, not months. Tbh we never listen until it's too late.

Honestly, my mom told me to keep my yearbooks in a closet, not the garage. I listened, and they still got warped from the summer heat (so maybe they're just guessing sometimes).
