That museum docent comment flipped my whole approach to trading cards
I was at the Field Museum in Chicago last month and overheard a docent telling a kid that every specimen tells two stories, one about the animal and one about the person who found it. It hit me that my baseball card collection from the 1980s does the same thing, each card is a snapshot of the player's season and also of who I was when I traded for it. So now I'm going through my 300 plus cards and writing little notes on the sleeves about where I got each one, like the 1987 Topps set I fought my brother over. Has anyone else ever added personal context to their collection pieces, or do you keep yours strictly mint condition?
