The 32-key accordion in my basement changed how I collect everything
Last month I pulled out an old accordion my uncle left me back in 2016, and it had a handwritten note inside listing every repair it ever needed. That got me thinking, so I started adding sticky notes to my vintage maps and antique tools with where I got them and what they cost. Three days later I did the same for my 40 beer coasters, and now I can tell you the exact bar and date for each one. I never cared about provenance before, but now it feels like every piece has a mini story instead of just sitting there. The note on the accordion was from a repair shop in Dayton, Ohio, dated 1974, and that single detail made the whole thing mean more. Has anyone else started tracking origin details on stuff they already owned, or am I the only one who got hooked this late?

Dayton note sold me too, provenance never mattered before.
