I finally got my mom to stop clicking on every email link

She kept getting weird pop-ups on her laptop for months, and I knew it was from her opening those 'your package is delayed' emails. Last Tuesday, I sat down with her for an hour and made her a simple rule: if she didn't order it, don't click it. I even put a sticky note on her screen that says 'ASK FIRST' as a reminder. It's been three weeks now and she hasn't had a single virus warning. It feels like a small win, but it made a huge difference. What's a simple rule you've taught someone that actually stuck?

That sticky note idea is brilliant, honestly. My dad had the same problem with those fake "security alert" pages. I told him if a website ever screams at him in all caps, just close the whole browser. It's been smooth sailing for months now.

Yeah, that's a solid rule... works for pop-ups too.

Closing the browser could lose important work though.
