My neighbor in apartment 4B just clicked a 'free gift card' link in a text and asked me why his phone got slow.

People still think basic phishing is obvious, but the fake texts look real now and they target your contacts. Has anyone else had to walk a friend through a phone malware scan this week?

Yeah, those fake texts look exactly like real delivery alerts now.

It's gotten ridiculous. The fonts and logos are perfect copies. My mom nearly gave her bank info to one last week. Scammers have turned a basic service update into a weapon. We're all just one tired click away from getting cleaned out.

It's like @taylor12 said, the fakes are perfect now, and that's happening with everything from texts to emails.
