My neighbor's kid told me his school's 'strong password' advice is basically a joke
I was helping him fix a leaky faucet yesterday, and he mentioned his teacher said to just add a number and symbol to any word to be safe. I told him that's terrible advice because a simple word like 'Summer2024!' is still easy for a computer to guess. He looked confused and said, 'But they told us that's all you need.' It hit different because he's trusting what he's taught, and it's setting him up for trouble. What's a better, simple way to explain real password strength to a teenager?

Yeah, the "just add a number" thing is what my old IT teacher said too (it's so bad).

It's a basic rule that works for most people starting out.

Chill, it's just a password tip for beginners.
