My spam folder went from 200 junk emails a drug to 3 after I turned on 2FA on my Amazon account
I was deleting 200+ spam emails a day on my phone, mostly fake shipping notices and "your account is locked" stuff from Amazon, and it was driving me nuts. Then I turned on two-factor auth with an app instead of SMS and switched my Amazon login to a fresh password, and within maybe 4 days the flood dropped to almost nothing. Does 2FA actually stop the spam itself, or did I just get lucky and the bots moved on to someone else?
Pretty sure 2FA doesn't touch your inbox at all, those fake shipping emails just scrape your address from old data dumps, not from your Amazon login. Switching your password and app auth might've cut down the account takeover attempts, but the spam bots probably just cycled you out of their list for a bit.
