Okay, I just found out my password game has been weak for like a decade
I was setting up a new account for my kid's school portal and it made me type my main email password. I typed it, then stared at it. It was basically my dog's name plus '123' and the year I got married. I've used a version of that for everything since 2014. My bank, my email, everything. A video I watched yesterday said those are the first things bots try. I feel so dumb. What's a better way to make passwords you can actually remember without writing them down?

Hold on, that password formula is actually pretty solid for most people. Bots go for the super easy stuff first, and adding the year mixes it up enough. The real risk is using the exact same password everywhere, not the pattern itself.
