PSA: Airport coffee shop wifi is a hacker's paradise

I was waiting for a flight in Dallas last month and grabbed a latte at Gate C12. Noticed the free wifi had like 40 different networks with names like "FreeAirportWifi" and "DFW_Guest_5G". I bet half of those are fake hotspots set up to grab your passwords. Has anyone else seen this at their local airport?

The scary thing is that those fake networks can look exactly like the real ones, so you wouldn't even know you're connecting to a scam until it's too late. I always check with the coffee shop staff or look for official signs now before I join any network, even if it's a huge hassle. It's wild how easy it is for someone to just sit there with a laptop and steal your login info while you're just trying to check your email. Definitely always use a VPN if you're going to do anything sensitive at the airport, because those hackers are getting smarter every day.
