Rant: My friend's garage got broken into because of a default router password

After seeing their security footage, I now change every default password on my devices, even the ones that seem unimportant.

Honestly, how many of us just unbox a router and never touch the settings again? I totally did that for years. Figured if it worked, why mess with it. Then my neighbor had the same thing happen, someone got into their home network through the default admin login. It was a huge wake-up call. Seeing that post from @sarah_patel25 about using "password" really hits home, because that was basically my old mindset. It takes five minutes to change it to something unique, and it stops the easiest attack there is.

My router password is still "password," so I'm basically asking for it.

Is it really that big of a deal?
