Switched from LastPass to Bitwarden after a close call

My buddy got his account drained last month. Turns out LastPass had that breach back in 2022 and I just kept using it like nothing happened. Moved everything to Bitwarden in one afternoon. Open source, audited, and it costs me zero dollars a year. Anyone else jump ship after a breach scare?

My YubiKey actually saved me last year when someone tried to get into my Gmail. I had it set up as a secondary 2FA and the login attempt just bounced right off. After that I got one for my password manager too, its such a simple thing but the physical requirement makes me feel way safer. I did 2FA on Bitwarden like the same day I switched, no way I was gonna be that person who rushed over and left the door cracked open. The peace of mind from having that extra step is honestly worth the $50 for the key.

Did you set up two factor auth on your new Bitwarden account right away? That's the thing most people forget when they rush to switch after a scare. I added a YubiKey too, just for that extra peace of mind.

Wait, you actually trust a YubiKey more than an authenticator app?
