That senior at the library in Dayton taught me a scary lesson about public Wi-Fi

I was at the Dayton public library last Tuesday helping someone print a form when this older guy asked me if I knew if the library's Wi-Fi was safe for his banking login. He said his neighbor told him public Wi-Fi is a big risk but he wasn't sure if that was true. Have any of you ever had a close call using public networks for sensitive stuff like that?

Did he actually log in though" - that's the whole thing right? People know the risks but we're all kinda wired to just go ahead and do it anyway. I see it all the time at coffee shops, people typing passwords while sipping lattes like it's nothing.

It's just human nature to act like nothing bad will happen until it does...
