The bank teller who spotted my phishing email before I did

Last Thursday I went into my local Chase branch on 5th Ave to deposit a check from a client. While I was waiting, the teller asked if I'd gotten an email about 'unusual account activity' that morning. Turns out, a really convincing looking email had hit my inbox, complete with the Chase logo and my actual account number in the body. I had almost clicked the link to 'verify my identity' before seeing the teller's warning. She pointed out the sender address was @chase-verify.net, not @chase.com, and the urgency language was a huge red flag. What got me was that she said they see people fall for this every single day. I've been telling myself I'm pretty sharp about this stuff, but that one nearly got me. How do you all quickly spot fake bank emails without actually opening the attachments or links?

Honestly same thing happened to me last month with a fake PayPal email, I almost fell for it too!
