The moment I realized my password habits were 8 years behind
I used the same password for everything until last March, when my bank in Denver flagged a login from Romania. That got me to check a breach site, and sure enough my email was in 4 different dumps. So now I'm torn between using a password manager for everything versus writing them in a physical notebook. Do you trust cloud-based managers or is old-school paper actually safer against hacks?

Paper is one power outage away from becoming a brick of useless information if you need a password while traveling. The real middle ground is writing down the master password to your password manager and keeping that in a safe place at home. That way you get the best of both worlds without trusting some cloud company with all your keys or carrying a notebook that screams "steal me.
