TIL my password manager beat my 'system' of 3 reused passwords

I spent 6 years using variations of the same 2 passwords across everything. Thought I was clever adding numbers at the end. Then last month my bank flagged a login from a city I've never been to. Turned out one of my old accounts on a gaming forum got breached back in 2022 and someone used that password to try my email. My bank caught it, but it freaked me out. I finally moved everything into Bitwarden and generated unique random strings for each site. Took about 30 minutes to do 40 accounts. The real kicker was checking haveibeenpwned and seeing 14 breaches with my email address. Anyone else think they were safe with 'one strong password' until something got compromised?
