Unpopular opinion: password managers might not be for everyone

I tried LastPass for about 6 months last year after hearing how secure it was. But I got locked out twice because I forgot my master password and had to reset everything. Maybe it's just me but I think some people are better off with a notebook stored in a drawer if they can't keep track of one password.

So you really think writing down passwords in a notebook is safer than a password manager? What happens when someone finds that notebook or your house catches fire? Not trying to be harsh, but I'm curious how you've dealt with those risks. I used to keep a physical list myself, but after a roommate accidentally threw it away, I switched to Bitwarden and it's been way less stressful.

Fair point about the fire. But I'd rather have my passwords offline where nobody can hack them remotely than trust some cloud server.

Found my roommate's notebook of passwords in the trash once.
