Warning: I ignored the update nags on my router for 2 years, fixed it in 20 minutes
Kept putting off the firmware update on my old Netgear because I figured it would brick the thing. Then a buddy ran a scan on my home network from his place in Boise and found my router was exposed on a known bug list. Finally flashed it last Sunday, took about 20 minutes total, and nothing broke. Now I check for updates every 3 months instead of never. Anyone else got an old router they keep meaning to patch?
