Almost got hit by a guy reading a book on the highway this morning

I was driving into downtown Nashville around 7:45 today, stuck in the usual mess on I-24. The guy in the truck next to me had a hardcover book propped on his steering wheel, like a normal person does at a desk. He drifted into my lane twice, almost clipped my side mirror, and I laid on the horn. I saw him look up confused, like I was the one causing trouble. Has anyone else seen people doing actual reading while driving, or am I just unlucky?

Hold up, on I-24? That's more of a highway than a freeway, but I get what you mean. People are wild out here, saw a guy eating cereal with a spoon and driving once.

Ngl that driver probably thinks he's some kind of multitasking genius but actually he's just a hazard to everyone else. Wonder if insurance companies have started tracking this stuff with dashcams yet cuz it's only a matter of time before someone's policy gets dropped for "distracted reading" or whatever they'd call it. Crazy how people will risk their whole life over a chapter in a book they could've just listened to on audio instead.
