Guy at the bus stop in Tacoma bet me $5 I'd miss my transfer, and he called it perfectly
Two months ago I started taking the 6:40 route to work and there's this older guy named Ray who's always at the same stop. After a week of small talk he told me I was cutting it too close on my transfer at the downtown station. I figured 4 minutes was plenty since the trains run every 10 minutes anyway. Ray shook his head and said the 6:40 bus hits traffic near the bridge on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of the garbage truck route. I laughed it off until I missed my connection two Tuesdays in a row and stood there for 12 minutes in the rain. So I started taking the 6:25 instead and haven't missed a connection since, which means I get to my desk 15 minutes early with time to grab coffee. I owe Ray a coffee for sure, he's been riding that route for 9 years and knows every pothole. Anyone else got a bus stop regular who knows the schedule better than the app does?

Ray was right about the Tuesday traffic but garbage trucks run Mondays and Wednesdays too.
