Guy on the 7:15 train told me my typing was too loud, so I switched to a silent keyboard

I never thought about it until he leaned over and whispered 'you sound like a woodpecker' right as I was sending an email. Got a quiet one from Best Buy the next day and my commute stress dropped by half. Anyone else ever get random feedback from a stranger that actually helped?

@grace89 haha yeah woodpeckers are more of a percussion thing but I think he was just trying to be funny. That train guy's comment actually made me realize how many tiny habits we have that annoy other people without us knowing. Like I never noticed how loud my breathing was in a quiet office until someone pointed it out, or how I drum my fingers on the table during meetings. It's weird but sometimes a random stranger's honest feedback can save you from years of annoying everyone around you without realizing it.

Isn't a woodpecker more of a drilling sound than typing?
