Heads up: that shortcut through the old industrial park on 42nd is now a dead end

I took that route to shave 10 minutes off my morning drive for like 2 years, but yesterday they had it completely blocked off with concrete barriers. No warning signs or anything, just a wall of concrete where the road used to be. It took me 45 extra minutes to find a way around because GPS kept trying to reroute me through it. Check your maps before you head out, this is gonna mess up a lot of people's timing.

Dodge that whole area for now, even GPS hasn't caught up yet.

@logan_young29 you're dead on about that GPS thing. I tried to save time cutting through that area last month and my maps kept spinning me in circles, three wrong turns before I finally gave up. Whole stretch is just a mess right now, not worth the headache.

Did you try any of those side roads off Elm? I figured out last Tuesday that if you take the old service road behind the gas station, it cuts around most of the GPS dead zone. Logan's right that the main stretch is a lost cause though. I ended up having to pull over and call a buddy who lives out that way just to get pointed in the right direction. By the time I found my way out, I was twenty minutes late for a job. @logan_young29 probably saved me from doing that same loop again next week.
