My neighbor insisted I take the 7:15 train instead of the 7:30

I thought he was crazy for suggesting I get up earlier, but he said the earlier train has a different conductor who never checks tickets. Tried it yesterday and sailed right through without my monthly pass. Anyone know if this is a regular thing on that line?

Sounds like your neighbor just saved you some cash. My dumb luck would have me pick the one day they do a surprise ticket check. Wouldn't risk making it a daily habit though.

Totally agree with you on the luck thing. My buddy got away with skipping the train fare for like a year straight. Then he got caught twice in one month and the fines wiped out all his "savings". It really is just a matter of time before they check you. Not worth the stress of looking over your shoulder every single ride.
