Saw a guy on the train today with a full-on portable office setup
I was on the 7:15 AM express from Stamford into Grand Central this morning, and the guy in the seat across from me had his whole work station going. He had a laptop on a little tray table, a second phone propped up, a power strip plugged into the outlet, and was even on a video call with his camera on. He had one of those little clip-on ring lights too. It was wild to see someone so fully dialed in while we were moving at 60 miles per hour. He was totally unfazed by the conductor announcing stops and people squeezing past. I guess if your commute is over an hour each way, you gotta make the most of it. But it made me wonder, is that the future? What's the most dedicated work setup you've seen someone pull off on public transit?

Saw a guy on a ferry once using a full keyboard and mouse on his lap. The dedication is REAL when people treat their commute like a mobile cubicle. Makes my quick phone check look pretty lazy.

Honestly that setup is a cry for help. Dude's probably got a manager who expects emails answered during his unpaid travel time. Makes me glad I clock out for my commute.

That ferry keyboard setup is next level. But honestly, I'm more worried about the guy on the video call. Who wants their boss seeing the messy train in the background?
