Saw a guy pull over on the highway to help a pregnant stray dog yesterday in rush hour traffic

I was stuck on I-95 near Richmond around 5:30 PM when this pickup truck cut across three lanes to the shoulder, jumped out, and coaxed this clearly tired dog out of the median with a granola bar, then three other cars stopped to help herd her into his truck bed.

Man that hit me right in the chest. I pulled over once for a scared little terrier mix that was running along the shoulder near a construction zone, and it took like 20 minutes just to get her to trust me enough to come close. The way people just jump out of their cars during rush hour to help an animal they don't even know, that's the kind of thing that keeps me from losing faith in people entirely. Makes you wonder how many times we've driven right past something like that without noticing. Glad that dog found her person.
