Spent $12 on a bus window hammer and it saved me from a panic attack

So I was on the 4 bus yesterday heading downtown and this guy starts screaming about how the door is stuck and we're all gonna die. I had just bought one of those little emergency window hammers from Amazon for $12 after reading a random thread. The driver couldn't get the door open and people were losing it, so I cracked the window with the hammer and we all climbed out. Felt like a hero for like five minutes until the cops showed up lol. Has anyone else ever actually used their emergency gear in a random situation?

Holding up that hammer must've felt amazing honestly. Did the cops give you any crap about breaking the window or were they just grateful everyone got out safe? I keep a seatbelt cutter in my glove box but never had to use it, kinda wonder if cheaper ones actually work or if you got lucky with yours. Also curious how long it took for people to start climbing out once you cracked it, bet that was chaos for a few seconds.

Gotta say, kinda overblown if you ask me. Window smashing isn't exactly rocket science, and that hammer probably works just as well as any cheap one. People make it sound like a heroic act, but really, any random dude with a tool could do the same thing.

Grabbed a cheap one from Amazon and it shattered the glass instantly, no issues at all.
