That express pass for the subway in Chicago cost me $45 extra last month

Turns out the express lane saves maybe 3 minutes but the regular train came right as I scanned my card, so I just stood there watching my money disappear while the doors closed - has anyone else just stood there feeling stupid with their express pass?

That "paid upgrade became useless" line hit way too close to home. I dropped $50 on an express pass for the O'Hare blue line once during rush hour, and the regular train showed up before I even got to the platform. I just stood there like a fool holding my phone with the confirmation screen still up, watching the express doors close while my wallet cried a little. Ever had a moment where you just had to laugh at your own bad timing?

My friend Sarah bought that express pass last month and the regular train arrived 10 seconds after she tapped. She just stood there watching the express lane doors close while her paid upgrade became useless. She said it felt like paying extra for a movie that started without you.

I mean, it's a train, not a concert VIP pass - sounds like she's making a way bigger deal out of 10 seconds than it really is lol.
