Traffic circle in my town took 45 seconds to navigate until they added a second lane. Now it takes 12 minutes.

The city council near me voted to 'improve' the roundabout on 5th Street by adding an extra lane. Been driving it for 7 years with zero issues. First day after the change I sat through three light cycles trying to merge. Who actually asked for this? Anyone else dealing with a road project that made things worse?

Used to defend road projects but this 5th Street one broke me too.

Man, I feel this so hard. "Broke me too" is right - I almost lost it the other day trying to get onto 5th from the south side. They added a second lane by my house's new roundabout and now people are just parked in the middle not knowing where to go. I sat through three full light cycles trying to merge into the inner lane because nobody will let you in. It used to be a quick 30 second breeze, now I just avoid that whole area and take the long way through the neighborhood.

Oh man, here's the thing nobody's talking about - that roundabout was probably put in to slow down traffic, but now it's just created a whole new kind of chaos where nobody knows whose turn it actually is, and I bet the city planners never actually drove through it during rush hour before they built it.
