Bought a hands-free leash vs a retractable one for my morning runs. Retractable won, barely.
I was trying to jog with my golden retriever, Max, and kept tripping over the regular leash. So I ordered both to test. The hands-free one kept slipping off my waist (poor fit, I guess). Retractable lets him wander but snaps back quick when we hit a busy street. Been using it for 2 weeks on our 3-mile loop through downtown Austin. Anyone else try the waist leash and have better luck?

Oh yeah, "retractable won" is EXACTLY what happened with me too. I tried one of those waist leashes and it felt like I was fighting it the whole time, especially on twisty trails. Retractable gives my dog enough freedom to sniff around but I can lock it down in a second when a car comes.
