Nearly lost my dog because of a loose collar buckle
I switched to a fancy quick-release collar last month and on yesterday's walk the buckle popped open when my lab lunged after a squirrel. Took me 25 minutes of running through a rainstorm to catch him behind the old water tower. Has anyone else had those quick-release buckles fail on them?

Is it really that deep though? Labs pull sometimes, that's just what they do. Maybe just tighten the buckle or get a basic buckle next time.

Faceplants happen, it's the lab tax.

Bought a no-pull harness for my dog once, convinced it would solve everything. First walk, he spotted a squirrel and I did a full faceplant into a pile of leaves. So yeah, maybe it is that deep or maybe I just need to accept my dog is a chaos agent and I'm along for the ride. In my experience, labs are gonna lab no matter what buckle you throw at them.
