PSA: My dog's walk actually got shorter after I started using a fitness tracker on her collar

I bought one of those GPS trackers for my dog last month cause I thought it'd be fun to see how far we go each day. Turns out I was overestimating by like a mile every walk. We do about 1.2 miles not the 2 I thought. Found the stat on the app after 3 weeks of data. Kinda funny how your brain inflates things. Anybody else had their ego checked by a gadget like that?

Totally get where you're coming from but I see it the other way honestly. My Garmin showed me my easy runs were way slower than I thought which Actually helped me stop burning out every week. I used to push way too hard on recovery days because my phone GPS said I was going 9 minute miles when really it was more like 11. Now my watch paces me properly and I hit my real goals instead of faking it.

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. My step counter told me I only walk about 4,000 steps a day, and I've been telling people I'm at 10,000. Guess my fitness level is just as fake as my self esteem.
