Read that dogs pull way harder on retractable leashes, now I'm watching my arm get yanked every morning
Saw a vet clinic post in Nashville last month saying retractables make dogs pull 3x harder because the line never goes slack. My 60 lb lab mix has been dragging me past the same fire hydrant for two weeks, so what leash actually fixed this for you?

Watched my buddy's arm nearly pop out of socket every time his beagle saw a squirrel on that retractable thing. He switched to a six foot flat leash and a front clip harness, and the pulling dropped off within a week. The short leash just doesn't give them room to build up that sled dog momentum.
