That $60 harness I bought off Instagram fell apart in 2 weeks

I saw this ad for a no-pull harness that promised it would stop my dog Luna from lunging at squirrels on our morning route around Prospect Park. Paid $60 for it with shipping, seemed worth it since our regular walks were getting so chaotic. First week it was great, the padding was comfy and she actually walked loose leash for maybe 3 days. Then the buckle on the chest strap just snapped right in the middle of a walk last Tuesday, no warning at all. Luna bolted straight for a pigeon and I had to chase her down holding the broken piece in my hand. I patched it with zip ties but the stitching is already fraying everywhere. Has anyone else bought gear from those targeted Instagram ads and had it fail this fast? I'm back to her old basic harness now, but I'm wondering if I should just pay for the expensive brand at the local pet store instead of trusting these online shops.

Those IG ads are pure roulette lol. Paid $45 for a "tactical" collar once and the metal ring snapped on day 4. Local pet store brands might cost more but at least you can feel the quality before you buy. Zip ties on a harness sound rough though, props for making it work. Honestly you dodged a bullet if that cheap buckle broke before Luna got hurt. Stick with the boring brand from now on.
