Two weeks of the same cul-de-sac loop and my hound went from pulling to dragging his feet

He used to strain at the leash for the first block, now he stops dead at the same mailbox on Maple Street and stares at me like I'm the one who built the boring route, so has anyone else seen their dog get bored of a walk that's too predictable?

I read a vet say dogs need new smells, not just miles, so switching up the route might help.
