Wasted $40 on a fancy harness that my dog hated
I bought this expensive no-pull harness online last month because the reviews were great. Took it out for a walk and my dog just froze, refused to move, kept trying to chew it off. Money gone since I can't return it after using it outside. Has anyone else dropped cash on gear that just didn't work for their pup?

I mean, I get being bummed about wasted money, but it sounds like maybe the harness just wasn't the right fit for your dog's personality. Some pups are super picky about how things feel. Maybe try letting him sniff it and giving him treats near it for a few days before the next walk.

Yeah but that's the thing though, dogs don't really care about price tags or reviews. My buddy dropped $60 on one of those fancy martingale collars and his dog acted like it was a torture device from the start. I gotta ask though, did you actually check the fit before the walk? Like did you loosen it or adjust where the chest piece sits? Because half the time the problem is the thing is just sitting wrong on them, not that they're being picky about the material itself. My last dog would freeze up if a clip was pressing on her shoulder bone, and I would have totally blamed the harness if I hadn't noticed it digging in. What specifically was your dog doing that made you think it was a hard no versus maybe just being startled by the new feeling?
