The library bathroom timer trick finally broke my doomscrolling

Last Tuesday I was at the downtown library waiting for a meeting and went to the bathroom. Noticed someone taped a little sign next to the mirror saying '2 minute rule, you get a timer on your phone not your soul.' Weird but it hit me. I started setting a 2 minute timer every time I pick up my phone for a quick check. When it rings I have to put it down or switch tasks. Been doing it for 5 days now and my morning scroll went from like 45 minutes to under 10. The key for me is the timer has to be a physical alarm sound, not vibration, because vibration I just ignore. Has anyone else tried a hard time limit like this or do you use some app that actually works better? My buddy swears by turning the screen grayscale but that just made me miss photos.

Bet you'll quit this by next week once you realize how annoying timers are.
