Tried setting up a morning routine 3 different ways, the 10 minute version finally stuck
So I wanted to start waking up earlier and actually doing something productive before work, not just scrolling my phone. First I tried the full hour thing with meditation and journaling and breakfast prep. Lasted 2 days lol. Then I tried just forcing myself out of bed but had no plan. That was a mess. The one that actually worked? I set a timer for exactly 10 minutes. I do one thing (stretch or make my coffee) and then I stop. No pressure. Has anyone else found that making it ridiculously short is what saves the habit?

My 10 minute rule worked the same way. I set a timer for exactly 7 minutes to just sit with my coffee and not touch my phone. Once the timer goes off I can go back to bed if I want. Ive done that maybe three times in two months. The trick is that 7 minutes feels so small your brain doesnt fight it at all. Kinda like how a 5 minute walk after lunch is way easier to commit to than a 30 minute one.

Bruh I tried the whole "wake up and conquer the world" thing too. Set my alarm for 5 AM, had a whole schedule written out. Didn't even get past day 1 lol. The 10 minute thing is actually genius though because your brain doesn't treat it like a chore. Its like tricking yourself into being productive. Probably because the only thing harder than waking up early is pretending you're gonna do a full workout before coffee.
