Hit 50 pounds of scrap copper saved from old wiring pulls last night

I just counted up my stash and realized I have 50 pounds of scrap copper from redoing knob-and-tube in my 1920s house, which is way more than I thought and makes me wonder if anyone else sets aside their hobby scrap without tracking it until it gets ridiculous.

Fifty pounds is wild, but makes perfect sense when you're stripping all that old wiring. Your garage is basically a copper savings account.

Know exactly what you mean, I never realize how much I've squirreled away until I move a box and it creaks. Fifty pounds of copper is a solid little bonus just sitting there, especially after dealing with all that old brittle insulation. I got up to about 40 pounds from some old phone line and speaker wire I'd been yanking out of an attic, felt like I was hoarding treasure. It's weird how satisfying it is to see it pile up even if you don't cash it in right away. Just feels like free money waiting.
