Hit my 50th birdhouse this weekend, finally get why people count

I always thought tracking numbers was lame until I realized I built 50 birdhouses this year while just messing around on Sundays. Seeing the stack in my garage made the time feel real, so now I keep a tally in a notebook. Anyone else keep a running count of their projects just to see it add up?

Honestly the tally part is what makes it stick for me too. I started marking a line on the inside of my workbench after every shelf I finished, and seeing those little scratches pile up is way more satisfying than I expected. It's not about the numbers being impressive, it's just proof that the Sundays weren't wasted. Mine's at 34 now and I weirdly look forward to adding that next mark.
