My buddy looked at my 6 unfinished model planes and asked if I just like buying boxes
We were in my garage in Denver on Sunday and he pointed at the shelf and said that, and I laughed but then I went inside and actually counted, 6 kits started, zero finished since January, so now I'm wondering if I should box up the unopened ones or just force myself to finish one before touching anything new.

Man, that question hits way too close to home lol. I've got a stash of kits under my bench that I keep telling myself I'll get to "next month," and somehow next month never shows up. My trick now is I keep one kit on the bench and the rest stay in the closet with the boxes taped shut, because if I can see them I start getting ideas and the half-built one gets shoved aside again. Six started with zero done since January is rough but honestly pretty normal for this hobby, people joke about it all the time. If I were you I'd pick the one that's closest to done and just knock it out, the finished one on the shelf does way more for your mood than a new box ever will. Then you can open the next kit as a reward instead of feeling bad about the pile.

Six kits sitting there since January sounds about right for this hobby, my shelf currently has 4 started builds and a stack of unopened boxes I keep telling myself I'll get to. The taped box trick works pretty well since out of sight really does mean out of mind, at least for me. Pick the plane that's closest to done, finish it this weekend, and then the next box feels like a prize instead of a guilt pile.
