Question about granny squares: why does everyone skip the turning chain?
I've been crocheting a blanket for about 4 months now and noticed most tutorials say to chain 2 at the end of each row, but then people just flip and start in the first stitch anyway. It leaves a gap along one edge that I can see on my own project after 30 rows, so I started chaining 1 and it closed up. Curious how other folks handle this on big flat pieces, or do you just accept the gap?
