Found a stupid simple fix for my kitchen timer chaos

I kept missing boiling pots because my phone timer would lock and I'd swipe the notification away by accident. After 3 ruined pasta dinners last week, I bought a cheap $9 magnetic countdown timer and stuck it on the fridge. Now I hear the beep from anywhere in the apartment, no screen to fight with. Has anyone else switched back to an old school timer just to stop fighting their phone?
