Found out that honey never spoils (like, ever) while looking up shelf life for a customer at work
I was helping a customer find a new sealant for their leaky window and somehow ended up reading a Smithsonian article about 3,000-year-old honey found in Egyptian tombs that was still perfectly edible, which is wild to think about while I'm standing in the caulk aisle, so has anyone else stumbled on a random historical food fact that made you rethink your pantry?

Exactly, @grace_campbell. Keep honey in the pantry and ignore those fancy expiration dates.

Oh man, that honey thing got me too. I was in a totally different aisle at the grocery store and just stood there staring at the jar for like five minutes. It's really something else to think about how that stuff survives centuries without going bad. Makes you wonder what else we've got wrong about food expiration. Honestly, it changed how I look at my own pantry, even though I still eat leftovers way too fast to test anything.
