Hit 1,000 songs in my 'laughs' playlist and nobody gets why that bugs me

So I've got this playlist for funny songs, the kind that make you snort or crack a smile. I just added the 1,000th track, a old Weird Al tune I found while digging through a used CD bin at a thrift store near my town. I'm not thrilled about hitting that number, because it means I've spent way too much time curating this thing instead of just laughing at random stuff. People tell me it's a cool milestone, but I think it's a sign I'm overthinking humor. Who else has a hobby number that made you stop and wonder if you've taken a joke too far?

Nah, I gotta disagree with you here. Hitting 1000 tracks just means you've got a solid vault of guaranteed laughs, not that you're overthinking it. Having a curated stash means you can skip the duds and get straight to the good stuff when you need a lift.

That record collection of mine got up to 500 jazz LPs before I realized I'd never listened to half of them. Just sat there alphabetized and pristine, like library books nobody checks out. My wife pointed out I spent more time organizing the Miles Davis section than actually playing any of it. She was right, of course. Now I keep a shoebox of random records I grab at garage sales and play them whether they skip or not. Helps me remember music is supposed to be messy fun, not a spreadsheet.

Wait, did you just describe my Spotify playlists? I spent two years building this perfect "Ultimate Jazz Vibes" list with exactly 842 tracks, and I think I've actually played maybe 30 of them start to finish. Your library book comparison hit me hard because I was starting to treat music like something to admire on a shelf instead of something to actually feel. Gonna try your shoebox method this weekend, maybe grab some beat up records from the thrift store and see what happens when I stop being such a perfectionist about it.
