Bartered a bread maker for a ladder, got a life story instead
Last month I posted an old bread maker I never used, and this guy named Greg from Portland offered a 6 foot aluminum ladder in exchange. We met at the coffee shop near the bus depot, and he spent twenty minutes telling me how that ladder helped him paint his daughter's nursery after she was born in March. I handed over the bread maker and took the ladder, but honestly I walked away with more than I gave. Has anyone else had a swap where the story was better than the item?

Honestly that's the best kind of trade. Every time I've sold something on Craigslist the person just takes it and leaves. You basically got a free therapy session with a ladder thrown in.
