Hit 50 swaps last week, my garage finally looks less like a museum of bad buys

I counted my trade pile from the last 6 months in Portland and it was exactly 50 items, mostly books and mugs I got from this group, but my favorite was trading a bread maker I never used for a set of chipped enamel pans that actually cook better than anything new, has anyone else noticed the stuff you get here ends up working harder than the stuff you bought?

Buddy of mine swapped a half-broken espresso machine for an old cast iron skillet in this group, and now that thing is the only pan he cooks with, even though he owns brand new ones. He said the seasoning on it beats anything from a store, no matter how much he paid. Funny how the junk nobody wants ends up being the stuff you can't live without.
